Help that makes a difference.

The Nepalhilfe Beilngries can look back on 31 years (as of August 2023) of social engagement in Nepal. From its original small beginnings, it has grown into a strong tree of help, especially with your support, providing support and protection to many needy people since then.

Over the years, many new branches have grown from the trunk that initially focused primarily on education. Health, hygiene, upbringing and care are some of these branches.

Nepal

In the heart of Asia, Nepal lies between the world’s most populous countries:
In the north: The Tibet Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China
To the south, west and east: India

How big is Nepal?

With an area of approx. 147,000 km², Nepal is not even half the size of Germany. Only 3% of Nepal is inland water, the rest is land.

8 of the world’s 14 eight-thousanders are in Nepal, including the highest mountain, Mount Everest at 8848 metres.

Who lives in Nepal?

Approximately 30 million people live in Nepal. The different population groups are an ethnic mix of people of predominantly Indo-Aryan and Tibeto-Burmese descent.

Religion is a constant companion in the everyday life of the Nepalese. Many different religious groups are represented in the population of Nepal. Hindus (approx. 80 %), Buddhists (approx. 9 %), Muslims (approx. 4 %), Christians (approx. 1.4 %). They live together peacefully and celebrate religious festivals together.

For tourists, the encounters with the people of Nepal, the Nepalese, are a special attraction. Their diversity of different ethnicities, caste groups, religions and cultures seems strange and confusing.

Nepal is generally a safe country to visit and can also be recommended for women travelling alone. The best time to travel is between September and May for trekking or visiting the Terrai.
