An exciting trip to our Nepal projects
A total of 5 inaugurations were on the agenda of this year’s Nepalhilfe project trip in March 2025.
The schools in Khaireni and Marsyangdi in the Tanahun district near Pokhara, as well as the school in Panauti in the Kavre district, east of Kathmandu, were inaugurated. The highlight was, of course, the inauguration and handover of the two floors of the new Madhyabindu District Hospital, which we financed with more than 1 million euros. The largest and longest of our projects was started back in 2018 and has now been handed over to the government of Gandaki province. Now it is the government’s turn to complete and equip the remaining two floors, which the present Chief Minister of Gandaki Province promised in front of the audience. However, the first patients could already be treated in the emergency room. As a gift, Manfred Lindner presented the financing of medical equipment and beds totalling over €50,000.
Another highlight of the trip was the inauguration of the new Siddhi Memorial Hospital building in Bhaktapur, which we co-financed with over €300,000. A real statement for Nepal, which boasts three operating theatres that can stand comparison with the best hospitals in India.
A visit to the day care centre for the disabled in Lhubu and our children’s home rounded off the trip. You can find more information on the individual projects on the homepage.
