Balachandra Secondary School – flood damage largely repaired
The very impressive Ryale school was built in just under 18 months in 2013, about 2 hours south of Kathmandu. Due to the increasing number of students, the school will be expanded by 2025 with a few more rooms. Both the core school and the extension currently under construction were severely affected by the flood in September 2024. On 1 December, the destroyed computers were replaced as part of an emergency programme and the students were given new school bags and teaching materials by Hari Adhikari and Shyam Pandit. The damage to the construction site was also repaired, so there is now nothing to prevent construction from continuing apace.
