For 25 years, Nepalhilfe Lichtenegg from Lower Austria, in the Wiener Neustadt district, has been supporting Nepalhilfe Beilngries.

Ever since the South Tyrolean mountaineer Hans Kammerlander inspired a small, enthusiastic group of mountaineers – including the brothers Erwin and Max (Martin) Stix and their partners from the village of Lichtenegg to support Nepalhilfe Beilngries, many hundreds of thousands of euros raised by the Austrians have flowed into Germany, enabling numerous projects – such as schools and health centres – to be realised in one of the world’s poorest countries.

The latest project, which is largely funded by the Lichtenegg branch, is the construction of a new orphanage for up to 35 children on the outskirts of Kathmandu. It is due to be completed in 2027.

A small but incredibly dedicated and ‘highly effective’ team, without whom Nepalhilfe Beilngries could not function.
