Shree Marshyangdi Basic School, Khahare
Construction of the new primary school in Khahare at the entrance to the well-known Annapurna circuit has been underway since September 2023. At present, the
145 students in grades 1-4 in the classrooms damaged by the 2015 earthquake. While there is sweltering heat under the tin roof in summer, it rains constantly during the monsoon season. Not good conditions for qualified teaching.
So the Nepalhilfe Beilngries decided to fulfil this wish after receiving the request to construct a new school building.
Construction work began at the end of 2023 and is expected to be completed within a year. The building will then comprise 7 rooms, in addition to the 8 classrooms, a staff room, another office and other functional rooms.
Currently, everything is on track for an opening in spring 2025.
On 11 March 2025, the small primary school was officially inaugurated and handed over to the community with great public interest. The time of cramped conditions and the extremely poor learning situation was now over. The toilets were also rebuilt, so that the hygiene situation has now improved considerably.
