Bushlung Healthpost – Sindhupalchok
After 12 of our 19 schools in Sindhupalchok had been rebuilt between 2016 and 2019, we received a request from the community of Batase to build a health centre in the village of Bushlung. As with education, medical care in rural areas is one of our pillars for alleviating local hardship.
Now, after delays due to the Covid 19 epidemic, we were able to start construction of the health post in December 2023.
The shell of the building, which was planned with six rooms, was constructed in just six months. Once completed, trained first responders will be on hand to provide medical first aid and basic care for minor cases. Hours of walking to the nearest doctor or hospital are now a thing of the past. A great relief for the villagers there.
The health centre was handed over in October 2024 and is now in active use. There are five trained paramedics and emergency responders on site who can provide expert assistance for minor and moderate medical cases.
