Bushlung Healthpost – Sindhupalchok
After 12 of our 19 schools in Sindhupalchok had been rebuilt between 2016 and 2019, we received an application from the community of Batase to build a health centre in the village of Bushlung. Medical care in rural areas, like education, is one of our priorities for alleviating local hardship. Now, with a delay caused by the Covid 19 epidemic, we were able to start construction of the health post in December 2023. Currently, the shell of the building, which is planned with 6 rooms, is being constructed. From the end of 2024, trained first responders will be on hand to provide medical first aid and basic care for local residents with less severe cases. Hours of walking to the nearest doctor or hospital will be a thing of the past. This will make life much easier for the local villagers. The work is expected to be completed by October 2024. The health centre is finished and has been in active use since October 2024. There are three trained first responders on site.
