The community of Lhubu built a modern school for over 600 pupils with significant financial support from the NHB. The building was officially opened in November 2019 in the presence of the association’s chairman Manfred Lindner and extreme mountaineer Ralf Dujmovits. In addition to classrooms for preschool to grade 10, the school also includes rooms for chemistry and physics and a computer room.
The very impressive Ryale School was built in just under 18 months in 2013, about 2 hours south of Kathmandu, and can accommodate more than 300 students.
After almost two years of construction, the school in Tanjakot in Humla, in the far west of Nepal, was officially opened on 1 April 2024. 360 schoolchildren now have a new school in one of the most remote areas of Nepal.
Since the completion of the passive solar house in September 2023, the five-month school closures in the winter from November to March due to low temperatures of up to -25 degrees will be a thing of the past. Pupils will now be able to attend school for 10 months.
