During a visit to Chautara in 2010, it was decided to improve the situation of the blind students there who were attending a regular school and were housed in a very poor house near the school. So in 2012, this small house was inaugurated by the members of Nepalhilfe Lichtenegg, who had contributed a significant financial amount. Between six and ten blind children live there, attending the Shree Bandevi Lower Secondary School next door.
In May 2025, Michaela and Michi Rebele inaugurated the new premises and playground for the disabled class in Sangachok.
The children's home run by founder Lila Bandahari, which looks after 35 orphans, needs financial support to survive. For many years, the NHB has been providing this support, which we have often seen is very well invested.
People with disabilities have a hard time, but in a third world country it is especially hard! We have made it our mission to make this fate a little easier by building a day care centre for disabled people in Lhubu.
